These new summer menus launched May 16, 2025! So let’s dive into what is new this summer and which hotel you can find them at.

Additionally, there will be a new character dining experience that will be available for guests during the summer months too. But a bit more on that later.

The Disneyland Hotel has some of the best eateries that I have ever eaten at in all my Disney trips. So personally, I am very excited for some of these menu items coming to the restaurants this summer!

Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill

Tangaroa Terrace is bringing quite a few new items to their breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus!

GCH Craftsman Bar

The GCH Craftsman Bar is adding some delectable additions to their breakfast menu, as well as lunch/dinner too. Some of the new items are also available at the GCH Craftsman Grill too, and those items will be noted.

• Farmers Market Frittata – Eggs, ham, spinach, house blend cheese, onions, asparagus, roasted vine tomato, lemon hollandaise, and house salad (NEW)

Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is known for their character dining experiences, and having some of the best ones that the Disneyland Resort has to offer. Once again, they are adding to their character dining experiences with Donald Duck!

This new Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet will feature Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and some of their other friends in new adventure outfits. The dinner buffet will include campfire-style bbq menu.

The character dining experience will be held at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Be sure to check back to the blog for a full review of this new character dining experience.

Closing The Gates On: Disneyland Resort Summer Menus

Since the fall of 2024, there has been many changes, new shops and restaurants added, and there are going to be so many more coming over the next year. It is going to be hard to keep up!

Which is why this post will break down all of the details of what is coming to the Downtown Disney District. This post will include all of the details, from when these new places will open, and what else you can expect in to open in the new future.

Downtown Disney Updates: April 2025

Disney has announced a few more stores and restaurants that will be added to the Downtown Disney District! And these are one’s that you aren’t going to want to miss!

The Downtown Disney District has been an ever-changing spot the past year, and it is incredible to see what Disney has been able to bring in to the district.

Lululemon

That’s right, Downtown Disney District is getting it’s own Lululemon Store! But this location will be special, as it will offer a variety of different gear, as well as some collaboration apparel.

The new Lululemon will be located where the former ESPN Zone building was at.

Nectar Life

If you don’t know, Nectar Life is a “beauty essentials and bakery-inspired bath treats” shop where you can get all of your handmade items. All of Nectar Life‘s items are handmade, and utilize vegan, natural, and plant-based ingredients.

What will make this location special is that the Downtown Disney District location will be the only location with a customization bar! This is where you can create your own bath and beauty products how you want!

Nectar Life is set to open later in 2025, and will be located near Avengers Reserve

Bopo Go!

Downtown Disney District wouldn’t be complete without its own boba cafe, and soon it will have it’s very own. Bopo Go! was created by the co-owners of Bopomofo Café, Eric Want and Philip Wang. You can expect to get great quality and authentic boba/bubble tea when you go to Bopo Go!

All of the tea is sourced from Taiwan, and the matcha is source from Japan! So you know that you will be getting only the finest boba when you go to Bopo Go!

Bopo Go! is currently in the concept planning phase, and more details will be released as it becomes available!

Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon

This steakhouse will serve the best of the best of beef, seafood, and sandwiches. Additionally, there will be a wide selection of bourbons and cocktails to enjoy with your meal.

The menu was designed by Michelin-Star Chef Joe Isidori.

Pearl’s Roadside BBQ

Another restaurant with a menu created by Michelin-Star Chef Joe Isidori, but Pearl’s Roadside BBQ will be a quick service restaurant. At Pearl’s Roadside BBQ you will be able to find mouth-watering dishes that blend traditional North Carolina cookouts and modern barbecue techniques.

You will be able to taste the talent in favored dishes like; pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey. Additionally you will be able to enjoy all of the barbeque with house-made sauces and moonshine cocktails.

Downtown Disney Updates: February 2025

The new year has brought many new things to the Downtown Disney District! Here are some of the newest updates in restaurants, entertainment and shopping that you have to look forward to when you visit the Disneyland Resort!

New Downtown Disney Restaurants

As mentioned in previous updates, there are many new restaurants that will be opening up this year! Here are some of the new ones that have opened, as well as information about the ones that are still coming!

Parkside Market

This new eatery will bring 4 different restaurants in one place! That’s right, at Parkside Market you can enjoy different restaurants under one roof! Parkside Market will have the following restaurants:

• Sip & Sonder – serving a variety of lattes, fresh treats, and small bites
• Seoul Sister – serving Korean-style rice bowls
• GG’s Chicken Shop – serving chicken salads, and everything chicken
• Vista Parkside Market – serving signature cocktails, mocktails, and everything in-between

Parkside Market opened in December 2024.

Din Tai Fung

Enjoy the many flavors of Taiwanese cuisine at Din Tai Fung. This is the first freestanding restaurant that highlights the art of Xiao Long Bao (a dumpling dish). The menu has a wide variety of different dumplings, as well as some classic favorites such as; String Beans with Garlic, Cucumber Salad, Spicy Wontons, and more. All of the dishes are served family-style (sharing portions).

Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita

These three restaurants were created by Michelin-Star Chef Carlos Gaytán. Even though these three restaurants were created by the same Chef, they each offer their own unique dishes, cocktails, and environment.

• Paseo – offers upscale, Mexican Cuisine, indoor restaurant
• Céntrico – offers classic Mexican dishes, open-air seating
• Tiendita – offers to-go Mexican street style dishes

This winter season is going to be bringing a lot of changes in the Downtown Disney District, so you’re going to want to plan your Winter Disney trip soon!

Avengers Reserve

Downtown Disney’s first store dedicated to Avengers and Marvel merchandise! Here you will be able to find the best gift for any Marvel fan! Whether you’re looking for clothing, collectables, bags/purses, or comic books, Avengers Reserve has it all!

Disney Wonderful World of Sweets

If there is one thing Disney is well known for it is their delicious sweet treats, and Disney is taking it to a new level with: Disney Wonderful World of Sweets. At this world of sweets, you can find all of your favorite Disney treats from caramel apples to churro toffee.

Additionally, there will be plenty of new treats that will be released with the grand opening!

Disney Wonderful World of Sweets is set to open Winter 2024, and is the re-imagined Marceline’s Confectionery.

The D-Lander Shop

If you’re looking for a modern take on Disney apparel, then look no further. The D-Lander Shop will be your one and only stop to enjoy various apparel collections, handbags, and jewelry. You can look forward to see a variety of collections including Dooney & Bourke, Pandora Jewelry, and Kate Spade.

The D-Lander Shop is scheduled to open December 6, 2024.

Disney Storyland Boutique

This new boutique will have a revolving and transforming theme throughout, offering new items every time you stop by! Disney Storyland Boutique is a great place to grab cute themed decor and other fun things. Just be sure to check back again every visit, as you never know when the theme of the boutique will be changing.

During the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine festival, you can find food throughout the whole park at various marketplaces. Each marketplace has its own theme, and food to match the theme.

Pro-Tip: Some marketplaces are more popular than others and often have a long line to order the food. If you want to ‘skip’ the line, then order the food at a different marketplace, and then go to the pick up window of the marketplace that is offering the food item you wish. This is a little way to save some time.

All of these marketplaces will be available from February 28, 2025 until April 21, 2025. A few of them will have some food items available a bit longer (which will be noted).

Additionally, not all of the food items are available for the Sip & Savor Pass (more on the Sip & Savor Pass further down).

With previous events, Disney has offered a Sip & Savor Pass. A Sip & Savor Pass is a pass offered during select Disneyland events that allows you to pay a flat rate for a certain number of vouchers valid for certain dishes.

The DCA Food & Wine Sip & Savor Pass this year (2025) offers a barcode for eight digital vouchers to try various items.

Now, if you’re thinking, “Red, that’s a lot of vouchers; there is no way I’m gonna use all of those,” Let me say that often, the portions when purchasing with the voucher are a bit smaller than normal, more like a sample size.

Additionally, the Sip & Savor Pass isn’t limited to just one person, so if you go with friends, you can all share a Sip & Savor Pass rather than everyone purchasing their own! This is an excellent way for everyone to save some money, too!

But if that seems too much, they offer a 4-voucher Sip & Savor Pass if that seems more doable for you.

At GCH, you can enjoy a unique dining option called the Dinner and Scotch Event, which offers hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a four-course dinner paired with scotches.

Additionally, the popular A Walk On The Silverado Trail will return to GCH. Held at the Mariposa Pool Deck, it offers delicious culinary dishes paired perfectly with specialty wine.

That’s right. Thankfully, Disney doesn’t offer sweet treats for one day only. These loveable treats will be available for most of February, giving you plenty of time to hurry down to the Disneyland Resort to enjoy these mouthwatering dishes.

Does it cost extra for Lunar New Year?

No, the festivities associated with Lunar New Year are included in your park ticket. The only thing that costs extra is the food, just like all the food at Disneyland.

Is there a Sip & Savor Pass for Lunar New Year food?

Yes! Disney will be offering a Sip & Savor Pass for the Lunar New Year food booths. The pass tabs cannot be used towards alcoholic beverages, and some items might be excluded or downsized to a ‘taste’ size portion with the Sip & Savor Pass.

Please ask any cast member when you purchase the pass if you have any further questions about the Sip & Savor Pass.

Can I try Lunar New Year treats without going to the park?

Yes and no! There are many limited, Lunar New Year food options that are available for all guests at the hotel restaurants, as well as in Disney’s Downtown District.

However, in order to try the food that is located at the food booths within the parks, you will need an admission ticket to the park, as well as a park reservation in order to enter.

There are two new marketplaces joining the food booths this year, and a ton of new food items for guests to try.

Purchasing the Sip & Savor pass can save guests money if they plan on trying a variety of different foods. But remember that the Sip & Savor tabs do not cover all items on the menu, and exclude alcoholic beverages.

A majority of the festivities take place at Disney’s California Adventure Park, however there will be some special food options available throughout the Disneyland Resort (including at the hotels).

Let’s take a look at what is going to be available during the Disneyland Lunar New Year.

Lunar New Year at Disneyland Festivities

During the Lunar New Year celebration, there are some special festivities that only take place for this celebration. Here are some of the things you can look forward to this year, when you celebrate at Disney’s California Adventure Park.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession

No Disney celebration would be complete without it’s own processional. During Lunar New Year, you can join Mulan, Mushu, and other friends as they celebrate the new year and honor family and friendship.

This processional also features spirited groups of entertainers including Chinese dragon puppets, warriors, drummers, and dancers for guests to enjoy.

This Lunar New Year procession travels from Paradise Gardens to Hollywood Land. And takes place a few times throughout the day, typically around 12:45 pm, 2:30 pm, and 5:00 pm (be sure to check the Disneyland App for exact times during your visit).

Pro-Tip: Because the procession travels through a majority of DCA, you can find a good spot to view the parade throughout the park. And remember, the parade will go one way during the first viewing, and then will come back during the second viewing.

The parade typically lasts about 20 minutes. In other words, it takes about 20 minutes for the entertainers to go through the whole course of the parade. This means that if you’re towards the end of the parade route, it might take a few minutes for you to see them (just try to be patient).

Lunar New Year Live Entertainment

Lunar New Year celebrations wouldn’t be complete without live entertainment! To celebrate the Year of the Snake, there are live performances happening at two different locations. You can enjoy performances at Paradise Garden Bandstand, as well as at Sonoma Terrace.

Each location offers a unique set of live performers during select times.

At the Paradise Gardens Bandstand there is quite the line up to enjoy. Here you can see performances from Jie Ma, Fortunes, New Tradition, and Kim Eung Hwa.

On the weekends, at Sonoma Terrace, you can see Vocal Seoul perform throughout the afternoon.

Lunar New Year Disney Characters

Like most other special events that happen at the Disneyland Resort, there are special characters, and outfits that the characters wear.

During the Lunar New Year celebration, you can expect to see special characters from some of our favorite Disney movies. Some unique characters include Mulan & Mushu, Meilin & Ling Lee (from Turning Red).

Additionally, Mickey and Minnie will be wearing some traditional Korean inspired cultural attire.

In previous years, guests could also see Chip and Dale dressed in vibrant Lunar New Year attire, as well as meet Raya.

Lunar New Year: Wishing Wall

The Wishing Wall is located in Paradise Gardens. It is a beautiful area where you can add your own messages and wishes for a bountiful new year.

The Wishing Wall is available to everyone of all ages to enjoy.

Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration

On select evenings, you can also enjoy a pre-show (before World of Color – ONE) that celebrates Lunar New Year.

This year, the pre-show tells the story of Little Lantern on a journey to get home before the celebrations of good luck and fortune take place.

The show will last about 6 minutes, and was created by Academy Award-winning composer Tan Dun.

Disneyland Lunar New Year: Marketplaces

Of course you cannot have a Lunar New Year celebration without some good food options. To help celebrate, there are six different marketplaces that will be offering Asian-inspried dishes for everyoen to enjoy.

These dishes take inspiration from Chinese Vietnamese, and Korean cuisine to bring tradition and modern twists to some of our favorite dishes.

Lunar New Year Sip And Savor Pass

If you’re familiar with most Disneyland events, there typically is a Sip & Savor pass available. Lunar New Year is no different, and there will be Sip & Savor Passes available to guests who wish to use one.

If you are unfamiliar with what a Sip & Savor pass is, it essentially is a flat rate for a pass that gives you vouchers to use towards the different marketplaces to try sample sizes of the different food options. It can be a cost-saving method to try a lot of different food available during events.

Recently, Disney has changed the sip and savor pass from a physical voucher to a more digital method, making it easier to use.

Disneyland Lunar New Year: Merchandise

Every special event has limited merchandise available. There is always merchandise that can be purchased in parks, and some merchandise that is available on ShopDisney.

You can look forward to an exclusive Lunar New Year Spirit Jersey, Lunar New Year Ears, as well as other favorite merchandise.

Disney California Adventure Park holds a Lunar New Year celebration from mid-January until mid-February. The celebration doesn’t just highlight Chinese traditions with the new year; it celebrates parts of all the countries that celebrate Lunar New Year, including Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions.

Is Disneyland busy on Lunar New Year?

Typically January and February are slower months to go to Disneyland. During the Lunar New Year, you can expect to see some crowds on the weekends, with usually lower numbers during the week.

However, the weekend crowds are going to be very minimal compared to the crowds that take place during Summer, Halloween, or Holiday time at the parks.

How long is Lunar New Year 2025 Disneyland?

This year, the Disneyland Lunar New Year occurs from January 17 until February 16. For a full 31 days, guests can enjoy the festivities of celebrating the Year of the Snake.

Disneyland Lunar New Year is (usually) an annual festival at Disney California Adventure, so if you miss the one for 2025, mark your calendar for 2026!

Closing The Gates On: Lunar New Year at Disneyland

Another D23 has come and gone! With that are exciting new announcements for the future of Disney parks, and Disney as a whole. This year is no exception, so let’s break down those Disneyland D23 announcements!

All the Disneyland announcements were given by the Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro. And the announcements cover both Disneyland Resort and Disney’s California Adventure Park.

Josh D’Amaro is often the one to give Disneyland announcements, as to be at big events that take place at Disneyland.

Disneyland D23: Attraction Announcements

There were a few different announcements that centered around new attractions. Covering both new attractions coming to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park.

Avengers Campus

To much surprise to fans, D’Amaro announced that a third attraction will be coming to Avengers Campus! This new attraction is supposed to allow guests to enter the Multiverse!

Making a new, never been told story for guests to enjoy! Nothing has been told on what all this storyline is going to have, but from the concept art, we know that there will be a new Thanos character.

The concept art (shown above) also shows some familiar faces, if you have been keeping up with all of the Marvel series and movies on Disney+. Such as, Captain Carter, She-Hulk, Mighty Thor, Daredevil, and many more.

This new Thanos is called King Thanos! And as you can tell from the concept art, he is still a very powerful character.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This new attraction is highly anticipated! It was met with great popularity at Walt Disney World, it is very exciting that it will also be coming to Disneyland!

Mickey’s Toontown has been under construction for over a year in preparation for this new attraciton!

When Mickey’s Toontown reopens to guests, guests will also be able to enjoy Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

In this attraction, guests are invited to enter the cartoonworld where only toon rules apply!

It is currently set to open in early 2023. But no set date has been announced with this.

Disneyland D23: Construction Updates

It seems lately there have been a lot of areas blocked off and construction happening all over the Disneyland Resort.

Paradise Pier Hotel – Pixar Place Hotel

The Disneyland Resorts always seem to be having some kind of renovations happening. It doesn’t happen often that a resort gets a whole new retheming with a new reimagined look.

Paradise Pier Hotel is currently under some construction and retheming of the hotel.

The hotel currently holds an classic California Beach theme. And will be reimagined to be more Pixar related.

The Pixar Place Hotel is supposed to include never before scene art and sketch designs from the Pixar studios. Including new designs of our favorite Pixar Pals.

Downtown Disney District

Nearly one third of the Downtown Disney District has been closed off to guests (near the side of the Disneyland Hotel).

With the new area opening up soon, (no date announced), there will be over a dozen new shops and eateries for guests to enjoy in Downtown Disney.

One of the most anticipated shops opening up is Porto’s Bakery & Cafe, a Southern California favorite!

Mickey’s ToonTown

Mickey’s ToonTown has been closed for reimagination for quite a while now. Although, let’s be honest, the pandemic has made the time feel extra long.

But the wait for ToonTown to return will soon come to an end!

Set to open in early 2023, Mickey’s Toontown will be open to guests with a wide variety of new things for guests and families to experience. Making it a fun location for all ages!

Disneyland D23: Re-Themeing Areas

Here is a list of all the re-theming that is going to be happening at the Disneyland Resort.

For those that don’t know, a ‘re-theming’ is where Disney will take an attraction, land, or area of the park and change the theme of that area to something new. This is very common to happen at Disney parks to help keep the parks new and fresh for guests.

Insight: Through technological advancements, re-theming is sometimes necessary to update favorite attractions or tell a different perspective of the story. This has been done a few times with some of the classic rides like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Pacific Wharf > San Fransokyo

Probably one of the most exciting new changes to be coming to Disney’s California Adventure is the re-theming of Pacific Wharf!

That’s right! Pacific Wharf will be rethemed and reimagined to transform into San Fransokyo! The city where Big Hero 6 takes place.

With the retheming of San Fransokyo, there are supposed to be new places to shop and eat. Additionally, it is rumored that guests will be able to meet Baymax in the new city!

Splash Mountain > Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

This re-theming is one that has been in the talks for a while, and it is now finally going to be coming to reality.

Given the official date of late 2024, Splash Mountain will officially be no more, but instead get a retheming to be an exciting ride through the Bayou.

Many guests can also enjoy the fact that many of the original film cast will be voicing parts of the attraction!

Disneyland D23: Characters

Amoung the Disneyland D23 announcements, there was a few new characters that will be joining the parks for guests to meet.

As with most Characters, there are some that are only available for a limited time or on a seasonal basis.

If there is a character that you want to meet, it is best to not hesitate because you never know how long they will have their appearence at the parks.

The Incredible Hulk

That’s right folks! The Incredible Hulk is going to be visiting guests at Avengers Campus.

This special Superhero will only be available for a limited time, so it is best to book your trip and not miss out on this opportunity.

Guests can expect to see The Incredible Hulk in the Quantum Suit that he wears in the film, Avengers: Endgame. Expect to start seeing The Incredible Hulk as early as mid-September.

The Mandalorian and Grogu

Probably the galaxy’s most famous duo, will be joining the Disneyalnd Resort! That’s right, the Mandoalorian and Grogu will be able to meet guests at Battuu.

It wasn’t announced whether or not The Mandalorian would be a permanent Character, but it also wasn’t mentioned that it was only for a limited time. So be sure to visit the parks because this is definitely a character you won’t want to miss meeting!

This famous duo can be found in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as early as mid-November of 2022.

Disneyland D23: Shows/Fireworks/Parades

Yes, yes, and yes! It was announced that Disneyland would be getting a new nighttime firework show, a returning parade, as well as a new nighttime spectaurlar show!

World of Color – One

In late January, there will be a new World of Color show at Disney California Adventure. The show will be called ‘World of Color – One’ and is supposed to help celebrate the Disney 100 years of Wonder Celebration.

Highlighting the legacy that was started by Walt Disney himself, over a century ago! This new World of Color is supposed to be like nothing guests have ever seen before with a new inspiring story!

Wondrous Journeys

Continuing that Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration is a new firework show called ‘Wonderous Journeys’. This firework show will take place at Disneyland park, and will pay tribute to all of the Walt Disney Animiation Studio films.

That’s right, the fireworks show will be highlighting 60 different films created by Walt Disney Animiation Studio! This is definitley going to be a show you won’t want to miss!

Magic Happens

For those that don’t know, this parade was highly anticipated in all of 2019 and debuted in early 2020. Due to the pandemic, the parade was pulled, with no announcement that the parade would come back.

This is why it is a very exciting announcement that the parade ‘Magic Happens’ will be returning to the Disneyland Resort in Spring of 2023!

The Wrap Up: Disneyland D23

As you can tell there are a lot of exciting things that will be coming to the Disneyland Resort after the Disneyland D23 announcements!

Here is a quick list of the big announcements that were announced for Disneyland at the D23 Expo.

Yes, it is totally possible to do Disneyland in one day. In fact, you even have a couple of different options to make it a great trip.

If you only have a day, one of the first things that you need to ask yourself is if you are going to upgrade your ticket to a park hopper.

Disneyland Itinerary For 1-Day In The Park

If there is only one day to spare at the magical Disneyland parks, here is what I recommend. If you have been reading my posts for a while, then you know that I always recommend spending a minimum of 2 days between the two parks.

But I understand that there are sometimes situations when you can’t spend 2 days, and all you have is one day. If this is the boat that you are in, hopefully, this itinerary helps make the most out of the day.

Below you will find my recommendations on things to do prior to arriving at Disneyland, as well as different itineraries for if you got the park hopper ticket or not. Having a park hopper ticket definitely can change things, as far as an itinerary would go.

Hopefully one of these itineraries can help you on your next trip to Disneyland when you only have one day to spend.

Prior To Arrival At Disneyland

These are things that you should do prior to leaving your hotel! Better yet, it would be best if these things were done prior to leaving for vacation. They may seem really silly, but they will save valuable time later down the road.

If you haven’t linked your tickets to the Disneyland App, then that is the first thing you should do. I go over step by step how to do that here in my blog post Everything You Need To Know About The Disneyland App.

Another thing that I recommend deciding prior to going to arriving is deciding whether or not you are going to utilize the free services of Disney Genie, or purchase Disney Genie+ or any Lightning Lane access. If you need details on what those are you can check out my blog post What You Need To Know About Disney’s Genie+.

If you are taking your children, then I recommend checking the heights of the rides prior to leaving. This can help get kids excited for certain rides, or break the news that they might not be tall enough for certain rides. For a breakdown of all the height requirements for both parks, check out my blog post Disneyland Height Requirements.

Genie Plus Options

If you do decide to purchase Genie+ or Lightning Lane, then I recommend a few choices first.

If you aren’t sure about purchasing Genie+, then you can read more about Genie, Genie+, and Lighting Lanes in my post here; What You Need To Know About Disney’s Genie+.

If you are going to Disneyland for the day, it would be good to start reservations with a popular ride, such as Space Mountain, or Big Thunder Railroad. These are rides that are most likely going to have longer wait times during the day.

Pro Tip: Double-check which rides will be closed due to refurbishment. This is important to do prior to planning any trip, but really important when it comes to reserving for Genie+. This could almost make Genie+, not worth it, depending on which rides will be down.

If you are going to Disney California Adventure then making a reservation for Toy Story Midway Mania, or Incredicoaster would be great choices. Because, again, those are going to be rides that have pretty long wait times throughout the day. So anything to help out on that wait time will be well worth it.

There is a lot of discussion around whether or not spending the extra money on purchasing Genie+ is worth it. Honestly, if you only have one day to spend at the parks, then it would be a really good investment as your time is going to be limited and there is a lot to see and do.

Helpful Genie+ Tips

If you are staying on-resort at Disneyland, then you are able to make your first Lightning Lane reservation at 7 am before you enter the parks. It is really important if you want to make the most out of the trip to make that first reservation first thing when you are able to.

You can only have one reservation at a time. And will not be able to book another Genie+ reservation until you either use up the first one you made, cancel that reservation, or it has been 2 hours since you made the reservation.

The only exception to this rule is if you pay for a separate a la carte Lightning Lane Reservation. The only ride within Disneyland that utilizes this is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. I would highly recommend spending the money for the ride. Disney California Adventure has Lightning Lane options for WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Ride and Radiator Springs Racers.

Also, you can only use Genie+ once per ride. In other words, you can only use it once for Space Mountain, and once for Splash Mountain. You can’t just use Genie+ to ride the same attraction all day long. A similar rule applies to purchasing the a la carte Lighting Lane options too.

Going Without Park Hopper Itinerary

Again, if you have been following this blog for a minute, then you know that I don’t think that the park hopper option is worth it. If you are in the same boat, don’t know whether you should spend the money, or don’t want to deal with the stress of park hopping.

This itinerary is for you. But keep in mind that then you are only going to be able to go to either Disneyland OR Disney California Adventure.

I will only create a one-day itinerary for Disneyland because chances are if you only have one day to enjoy the parks you are going to want to spend time in Disneyland.

1-Day Itinerary: Disneyland

Arrive Early for Rope Drop – Disneyland allows guests to enter the park about 30 minutes prior to the park actually opening. All the lands are roped off, and the ‘rope drop’ doesn’t happen until the park officially opens.

Meaning if the parks open at 8 am, the cast members start letting guests in at 7:30, so the lines start forming to get into the front gates at around 7 am – 7:15 am!

Getting in the parks ready for rope drop can give you a great advantage over others. But in order to do that, you need to get to security early. If you aren’t staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel then I recommend getting to the security line at least an hour early! Lines form fast, and it can take a lot of time to get through security and bag check.

Fantasyland Rope Drop – If you have young children, or wish to maximize rides, then being at the rope drop for Fantasyland can be a great way to do that. There are a lot of rides in Fantasyland, and if timed correctly, you can see all to most of them within the first 2 hours of the park opening!

But know that Peter Pan’s Flight is usually the place that everyone goes to first. If you can beat the crowd, and get in line early then it is a good one to knock out first. Otherwise, expect the wait time to be around 45 minutes or longer.

If done correctly, you should be able to knock out Snow White’s Enchanted Wish, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, Peter Pan’s Flight, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and Matterhorn Bobsleds first thing in the morning.

Tomorrowland – Then I recommend going to Tomorrowland to hit up Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. These are other rides that typically get longer wait times during the afternoon, so knocking them out first things in the morning helps.

Snacks – There is a churro cart and a popcorn cart towards the middle of Tomorrowland that is always a great pit stop for a snack. Additionally, there is quite a bit of seating in Tomorrowland to sit down and enjoy the snacks.

Adventureland – Now this can be done either after Tomorrowland or instead of Tomorrowland. The decision is up to you. But heading over to Adventureland towards the afternoon I recommend, as most of the queues are inside, plus it is by some great options for lunch if you want to stop and grab a bite.

In Adventureland, I recommend hitting up Indiana Jones Adventure, Jungle Cruise, and then going to check out Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is a great option if you have little ones, or if it is hot out. The 5 minutes show is inside, air-conditioned, and you get to sit down for a bit. It is quite enjoyable.

Snacks – If you don’t want to see Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, then head over to Tropical Hideaway for a snack. They have some Dole Whip, which is always an enjoyable treat regardless of what the temperature is outside.

And in case you aren’t a Dole Whip fan, then they do offer other tasty snacks as well that I highly recommend. They are perfect portions for snacks too, to not get too full before a meal.

New Orleans Square – Haunted Mansion is the big one to knock out! The line tends to minimize a bit during the usual lunchtime, as most people are trying to grab a bite.

Pro Tip: If you can have meals (lunch and dinner) not during the typical times then you can capitalize on some rides while others eat.

If you are feeling daring, then you can also head over to Critter County and go on Splash Mountain. Otherwise, I recommend going over to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge – This is one of my favorite spots in Disneyland, and I seriously could spend a whole morning here alone.

Hitting up Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance first is best, if the wait time is really long, then I recommend purchasing the Lighting Lane access for the attraction. Even though it seems a bit pricey to spend an additional $20 per person. But it definitely beats the 75+ minute wait, and the ride is really cool and should be experienced at least once.

Lunch – Now is a good time to have some lunch. It should be after a majority of people have lunch. Since you are already in Batuu, I recommend having lunch at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. They have some great options for food that isn’t too heavy to slow you down for the rest of the day.

Or you could always grab a light snack at Oga’s Cantina along with some really cool drinks.

Mickey’s Toontown – If there are young ones in the group, then heading over to Toontown is always a good idea. Or if you are interested in meeting and getting photos with characters. You will find all of the classic characters at Toontown in their respective houses.

UPDATE: Mickey’s Toontown will be closing on March 9, 2022, and won’t reopen until sometime in 2023!

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is a great ride for all ages that doesn’t have a height requirement. The ride is similar to the classic rides in Fantasyland. For a miniature coaster, there is Gadget’s Go Coaster, but there is a height requirement.

By this time, you have hit pretty much all of the main attractions within Disneyland. This leaves times for if you wish to hit any ride again, or go and see any ride that wasn’t mentioned earlier. Such as Winnie the Pooh in Critter County, or Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasyland.

Dinner – When it comes to eating dinner there are a few different options. One of my favorite places to eat Dinner in Disneyland is at Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland. The meals are pretty basic, burgers and such, but they do also offer some season desserts and fun treats.

Another great recommendation for dinner is River Belle Terrace. It is more of a sit-down-style restaurant with some good selections for everyone.

Disney at Night – When the sun goes down, that is when the parks really come to life. And can also be some of the best times to experience some of those outdoor rides.

Attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Matterhorn Bobsleds can be a lot of fun to experience at night. In fact, it can be a great time to experience these attractions, with little wait times if there is a nighttime fireworks show, parade, or spectacular happening at the same time.

It would even be my best recommendation to skip any fireworks show, or spectacular to hit some of the bigger attractions that you might want to enjoy again, or didn’t enjoy earlier due to long wait times.

UPDATE: Fireworks shows aren’t scheduled for every night at Disneyland. Be sure to check the date that you are in the park to see if there is going to be a fireworks show for the day that you are there. Additionally, spectaculars like World of Color and Fantasmic are currently unavailable and are expected to return sometime in 2022.

Disneyland Itinerary With Park Hopper

If you decided to spend the extra money (about $60/ticket) and do the park hopper option, then this is the Disneyland itinerary for you.

There are going to be some similarities between this itinerary and the one without the park hopper options, but there are also differences to accommodate park hopping.

With the new park reservation system, Disney doesn’t allow guests to park hop until after 1 pm and they have checked into their first park for the day. When you make your park reservations, you will need to decide which park you are starting the day at.

For the park hopper option, I would recommend starting out in Disney’s California adventure, then making your way over to Disneyland when it comes time to park hop. This is because Disney’s California Adventure is smaller than Disneyland, meaning that it can be easier to get through all of the must-do things.

However, I will give a park hopper 1-day itinerary for starting at each park. That way you can have options regardless of which park you start in.

Park Hopper Itinerary: Disney California Adventure

Rope Drop Avengers Campus – Getting to the parks early really does pay off! Since Avengers Campus is the newest land to open up at the Disneyland Resort, it does get busy really quickly.

Getting to Avengers Campus first thing in the morning means that you can ride the popular ride, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Ride before the line gets long (or before it breaks down).

Breakfast – Even if you don’t want to do WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Ride, then I recommend having breakfast at Pym Test Kitchen! They have the best tater-tots I think that I have ever had! With a beer mimosa! Perfect breakfast for a day at the parks!

Radiator Springs – Next to Avengers Campus, Radiator Springs is still a popular place. Everyone loves Radiator Springs Racers! After rope dropping Avengers Campus, I recommend heading over to Radiator Springs to enjoy things before the lines get long.

Radiator Springs Racers is available for an individual Lightning Lane purchase if you wish to help bypass the potentially long wait time. This would be a good investment if the ride is a must-see, as wait times can get to about 90 minutes or more.

Pixar Pier – Hitting up Pixar Pier right before lunchtime is a great way to see some shorter wait times, as most others are going to be thinking and going to lunch.

This can mean shorter lines for Toy Story Midway Mania, Incredicoaster, Jessie’s Critter Carousel, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, and Pixar Pal-A-Round. Which are all great rides to enjoy, for kids and adults.

Lunch – There are a few good options for Lunch on Pixar Pier. There are other good options in Pacific Wharf, or you can enjoy lunch in Downtown Disney before you park hop over to Disneyland.

Personally, I would recommend mobile ordering for lunch, as it helps bypass waiting in line. Lucky Fortune Cookery and Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill are two great options for mobile ordering in the Pacific Wharf area.

Park Hop: Disneyland – After lunch, head over to Disneyland to enjoy the second half of the day. Just make sure that it is after 1 pm, otherwise, you won’t be allowed to enter the park. Additionally, if the park is already at capacity then you won’t be able to enter the park as well.

Fantasyland – Heading to Fantasyland just after lunch is a good time to capitalize on some slower wait times. This usually is a great time to get the little circle of rides (Snow White, Peter Pan, etc) that is right on the other side of the castle.

Let’s be honest, those guests who go to the parks that have younger children might need to take a break from the parks for nap time.

New Orleans Square – After enjoying Fantasyland, hitting up New Orleans Square is always a great choice. Going on Haunted Mansion is almost a staple ride that everyone needs to go on during a trip. A trip to Disneyland isn’t complete without it.

Galaxy’s Edge: Batuu – A trip to Disneyland wouldn’t be complete without checking out the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge: Batuu! I personally love grabbing a snack at Ronto Roasters!

Stopping at Ronto Roasters is quick and easy with mobile ordering! And having a Tatooine Sunset or a Meiloorun Juice is perfect in the afternoon. It is oh so refreshing, especially with that Batuu heat!

If you have a group of about 4 – 6 people, then I would recommend doing Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Now, yes you could absolutely do this with fewer people, however, the max seating is 6 people. They will stick single riders or smaller groups if you don’t have enough people.

Since Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is still fairly new, and still a popular attraction, they are trying to maximize capacity in each cockpit. Which helps get guests through the ride with less of a wait.

But this does also mean that you could be trying to fly with a bunch of strangers who might not share your enthusiasm.

Tomorrowland – Is one of my favorite lands primarily because it has Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, which let’s face, is one of the best attractions in all of Disneyland. Also the home to Space Mountain, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, which are other fan favorites.

This is also a really good place to get regular and season churros, as well as Mickey-shaped pretzels. And yes, the Mickey shape does make it taste better!

Frontierland – I would recommend hitting up Frontierland closer to nighttime. Simply because riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at night is something that is truly incredible, and a unique experience.

The wait time for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is usually slowest during a fireworks show, or during a parade. If you are okay with skipping those during your trip, then it can be a great time to hit up the more popular rides.

Park Hopper Itinerary: Disneyland

Rope Drop Adventureland – If you are planning on park hopping then I recommend getting all of the big popular rides out of the way first thing in the morning. By starting in Adventureland, you can knock out Indiana Jones Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion, easily.

Or if you wanna pass Haunted Mansion, then you can go through Frontierland and hit up Big Thunder Mountain. Either way, after you knock out those 3 or 4 big rides then you can head over to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Batuu and do Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Before you spend the time heading over to Batuu, check the app to ensure that both of the rides are open. Rise of the Resistance has a bad habit of breaking down quite often, which means that

Can’t-Miss Disneyland Attractions

Obviously, there are some things that Disneyland has to offer that are can’t-miss activities. These are things that I would put at the top of your priority list, regardless of how many times you have gone to the parks. They are timeless classics!

• It’s A Small World
  • I know what you might be thinking “Red, the song will be stuck in my head for days!” I know, I know, but it really is a great ride. It gives you an opportunity to get off your feet for a few minutes and enjoy the air conditioning. Which is ESSENTIAL during a summertime visit. What more do you need?
• Jungle Cruise
  • Because everyone needs to see the 8th wonder of the world! The backside of water!
• Space Mountain
• Matterhorn Bobsleds
• Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Another timeless classic that is just enjoyable regardless of age.
• Indiana Jones Adventure
• Haunted Mansion
  • Especially if you go during the holidays, and experience the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay that they do. It is a really cool way to get into the festive spirit for the holidays (available Sept-Dec).

Can’t Miss Disney California Adventure Attractions

These are some of the best rides at Disney California Adventure. Rides that definitely shouldn’t be missed, and everyone should experience them. Some may disagree, but these are essential rides that I have to go on at least once during every trip!

• Toy Story Midway Mania
  • This ride is just so much fun! It brings out the competition
• Soarin’ Around the World
  • An enjoyable (air-conditioned) ride.
• Radiator Springs Racers
  • A fun ride that everyone in the family can enjoy! (Pro-tip: Try to get in a red car!)
• Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout
  • This is a thrill ride! But personally one of my favorites and a must-do on every trip. During Halloween time, they have a special experience Monsters After Dark.
• The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
  • This is one of those rides similar to “It’s A Small World”. It is a cute little ride, and it is air-conditioned. Which can be really nice during those hot California days.

Things To Do In Disneyland In One Day For Adults

It is often said that Disneyland is only for children and families. But in recent years the term ‘Disney Adult’ has risen in popularity. It is almost normal now for adults to go to Disneyland and enjoy the parks, whether they have children or not.

And there are plenty of different things for those Disney Adults to do within the parks. Whether it is enjoying the nostalgia of rides they enjoyed as a kid or enjoying one of the many more adult geared things throughout the park.

Most people don’t know how many “adult” areas there are around the parks. So here are my best recommendations for adult fun throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Full disclosure, most of these recommendations involve places that have a good bar. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy them if you don’t drink alcohol. They will also have plenty of fun non-alcoholic drink options too.

But I do plan on writing a more in-depth post on doing Disney as an adult.

Oga’s Cantina – One of the top recommendations is to go to Oga’s Cantina. Get a reservation and go! They have amazing drinks and tasty snacks and just add to the whole experience of being in Batuu at Galaxy’s Edge.

Additionally, it is the only place currently in Disneyland that sells alcohol within the park. And don’t worry, if you don’t drink alcohol, they still have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks available. Many of them are still fun-looking drinks!

Lamplight Lounge – Open for Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner, this is a great place to enjoy a meal right on the water in Disney California Adventure. Located right at the entrance of Pixar Pier, Lamplight Lounge has incredible food and an amazing drink menu.

Pym’s Test Kitchen – Probably hands down my favorite location in Disney California Adventure. Not only is their food incredible; but next to the Kitchen they have Pym’s Test Lab, which has a variety of different drink options.

Plus let’s be honest, enjoying a drink while in the middle of Avengers Campus when you can turn around and see your favorite Marvel characters is just really cool.

Trader Sam’s – Located at the Disneyland Hotel, this is a fun jungle/adventure-themed restaurant. Because Trader Sam’s isn’t actually in a Disney park, you don’t need to purchase admission tickets to enjoy and get that Disney Magic feel.

Hearthstone Lounge – Located in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, this is a great place for anyone looking for a more relaxing setting. There are seats next to a fireplace in the lobby where you can grab a drink and enjoy the fire and live performances.

Best Time-Saving Tips For 1-Day In Disneyland

The best time-saving tip for only spending one day in Disneyland… shoot it is a great time-saving tip regardless of how many days you go to the Disney parks. Plan ahead!

1. Have a Game Plan!
2. Rope Drop the Park! Dining Reservations! (reserve at off times)
3. Dining Reservations (especially during off times)
4. Utilize Mobile Ordering
5. Save shopping for the end of the day

Alright, now let’s break it down a bit further.

Don’t get me wrong, it is always fun to be a little spontaneous. You can still be spontaneous when you get to Disneyland, but if you don’t have at least a slight game plan it could seriously cost you some valuable time

Getting to the parks early for rope drop can help knock out a bunch of rides early with minimal wait times!

At a minimum, I recommend having dining reservations for dinner. This allows a guarantee that you are going to have a table. Sometimes, especially during a dinner rush things can get busy. Save yourself some time and make a dining reservation.

Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days before your trip. Take advantage of that window and book the reservation. I also highly recommend that you book for off times, so just before or just after the usual lunch or dinner times.

Additionally, if you need snacks throughout the day, utilize mobile ordering through the Disneyland App. It is a great way to save time waiting in line! You can even schedule your mobile order reservations early in the morning!

Saving the shopping for the end of the day means that you don’t have to carry everything around with you for the day! This makes it easier to get on and off rides, and just gives you one less thing to stress about during the day.

Disneyland Itinerary FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding a Disneyland Itinerary for a day. If there are any other questions that you might have about a specific trip, please feel free to reach out.

Is 1-Day Enough For Disneyland?

It is enough for Disneyland, but it also isn’t enough for Disneyland. The only people who I think are ever content with only going for 1-day are those that go multiple times a month.

Personally, I would never recommend staying for one day, I would definitely encourage seeing what you can do to stay for at least 2-days. But that’s another post.

Is It Possible To Ride Every Ride In Disneyland In 1 Day?

Disneyland itself has a total of 30 rides, not including the train ride around the park, or that style of ride.

With the average wait time being over 30 minutes for each ride. It is almost impossible to ride every ride in Disneyland within their opening hours.

Additionally, there are always a few rides that are getting refurbished, or that are getting changed to fit a holiday season.

However, with the right Disneyland itinerary it is possible to get on most of the rides. All you need is a bit of planning.

Ordinary Adventures recently shared a video on their youtube channel about doing 11 rides in 2 hours at Disneyland. This is pretty impressive, you can see how they do that below.

They really do share some great ways to capitalize on seeing a lot of rides in a short amount of time.

How Much Does 1-Day In Disneyland Cost?

The average 1-day admission ticket costs anywhere between $104 to $125. That is just the cost to get into the parks. That doesn’t include any meals, snacks, and merchandise that you will most likely buy.

Additionally, if you purchase tickets with the park hopper option, that is going to cost an additional $60. This can raise the ticket cost to anywhere between $164-$224, depending on the month, and day of the week.

It also doesn’t include the cost of Disney’s Genie+. Which is an additional $20 for the day, plus if you purchase any of the Lightning Lane for the bigger rides, it can add up.

The Wrap Up: 1-Day Disneyland Itinerary

Visiting Disneyland in a day is totally doable, but needs a little bit more planning. It is definitely not something that I would recommend doing on a whim, or without a game plan. That is of course unless you are an avid park-goer.

Especially with all of the current requirements and needing a park reservation in addition to having tickets, it definitely not easy to do on a whim.

The best tip for doing Disneyland in one day is to have a plan and a Disneyland Itinerary. This is exactly why I created one for you so that you don’t get overwhelmed by all the things that there are to do within the parks.

There are a lot of different hotels throughout Anaheim, giving a variety of different options to stay at for your vacation.

Throughout all of my hotel stays in Anaheim, I definitely have some favorite hotels that I would go back to in a heartbeat. On the flip side, there are some other hotels that I’m fine with just visiting once.

This post is going to specifically cover the Good Neighbor hotels of Disneyland in Anaheim. So keep in mind that there are other hotels in Anaheim that aren’t listed here. These are solely those hotels that have that ‘Good Neighbor Hotel’ Disney snap.

Without further ado let’s get started with what makes a Good Neighbor Hotel…

What Makes A Good Neighbor Hotel?

So you may be wondering what a “Good Neighbor Hotel” is, which if you aren’t familiar with Disney jargon it is totally understandable.

Essentially a “Good Neighbor Hotel” is a hotel around Disneyland Park, that has an agreement or partnership with Disney.

When you book a Good Neighbor Hotel (either through Disney’s site or through a Travel Agent), you are able to also purchase your Disneyland tickets together. By doing it this way, it makes it a full package, and a lot easier to manage in case something comes up.

Often in doing so, the hotel gives special discounts that it wouldn’t offer normal guests, or if you book directly through their site.

Some of these types of discounts could be free breakfast, a stay for 3 nights and get the 4th free, or even magical morning access.

Please note that the only thing that I haven’t listed with each hotel is the Good Neighbor Hotel Perks that the hotels offer. These offerings can change at any time, and some hotels might not currently be having those perks due to the pandemic. So it didn’t seem right to list them when it could be inaccurate information.

It really depends on the hotel and the type of deal that they are currently promoting. Keep in mind that they can change until you actually book the hotel for your trip.

Some hotel lobbies even sell park tickets and have a cast member to help with your trip.

However this was pre-pandemic, so I am pretty sure that this isn’t an option as park reservations are also required to visit the parks now. This could change if the world gets back to a different place, but we shall see.

Staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel, and taking advantage of one of their deals could be a great way to visit Disneyland and save a bit of money. Plus these deals you can get when you book with your friendly travel agent too (shameless plug for my travel business).

Many of the Good Neighbor Hotels are within walking distance to Disneyland, and/or offer a type of shuttle or bus service to get you to and from the parks (sometimes for a fee).

How Many Good Neighbor Hotels Are There?

According to Disneyland’s website, there are about 57 different Good Neighbor hotels!

This gives you a lot of different options on where to stay, which is great! It is great because it means regardless of your budget, there is a hotel that should work for your trip!

To help make deciding where to stay easier, I have listed a complete list of all the Good Neighbor Hotels for Disneyland.

They are listed by distance from the park, with the ones being closest to Disneyland first.

The idea behind listing them by location is so that if you are just looking to do a Disney trip, you can find a hotel close to the parks.

And if you are looking to see other things in Anaheim or in Southern California, it might be beneficial to stay at a park a little bit further away from the parks.

Along with the distance from the park, I have included the hotel category, hotel perks, room amenities, parking information, as well as check-in and check-out time.

As all of those things should be considered when trying to decide where to stay.

But first, I have listed the different hotels where I have personally stayed to give some personal perspective of where I’ve gone. Because I will be honest, I haven’t stayed at all the Good Neighbor Hotels in Anaheim. But I can really recommend the ones that I have been to.

Where I have Stayed

Over the years I have stayed at quite a few different hotels. For me proximity to the parks is important.

These are the Anaheim hotels that I have stayed at, that are close to Disneyland, and are classified as Good Neighbor Hotels. These hotels are reasonably priced, and what I would consider within walking distance to the parks.

Keep in mind, with all of my trips, I am splitting the cost between myself and at least 1 other adult. When I travel with friends (as a group) the hotel costs are getting split among 4 adults. This is a great way to cut down on costs.

With that information, what I might consider a reasonably priced hotel might be different than what you would consider a reasonably priced hotel.

These hotels are also listed in no particular order, just the order that I remembered them in.

The Anaheim Hotel

Located within walking distance to Disneyland, this is a great little spot to stay. It is just down the street from the S. Harbor Disney District entrance.

The South Harbor Disney District Entrance is usually where all the busses and shuttles do drop off and pick up.

It is considered right across the street from the parks, and it would be correct. From the front lobby, you can look across the street and see the Guardians of the Galaxy ride.

Additionally, there is a pretty decent pizza place, called The Pizza Press located right next door to the hotel. In fact, the pizza place is connected to the lobby of the hotel, which is super convenient.

Best Western Palace Place Inn & Suites

Just like The Anaheim Hotel, this hotel is considered to be ‘Across the Street,’ and it truly is. This hotel is located right across the street from the S. Harbor entrance of Disney District! Literally right across the street!

This is possibly the closest you can stay to the parks without actually staying at a Disneyland Resort! Walking to the security entrance took less than 5 minutes, where the biggest wait is waiting for the light to turn green.

Which makes this Good Neighbor Hotel one of my absolute favorites due to its close proximity.

Not only is close proximity nice in the morning to make sure that you are one of the first people in line through security and to get into the parks. But it also helps out at the end of the long day when you are exhausted from all the walking and eating one too many churros.

Additionally, the rooms were pretty spacious, the beds were comfy, and I liked having a mini-fridge in the hotel room to store water and other beverages for the end of the day.

Another perk of staying at this hotel is that it is close to restaurants. On the other side of the vehicle entrance is a Cold Stone’s Ice Creamery, and about a block in the other direction, there is a McDonald’s and other restaurants.

So for me, this makes this Best Western an ideal stay for staying off Disneyland property.

Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel

Located a bit further from the parks, but still within decent walking distance to the parks. This hotel lobby was incredible.

This hotel is themed with a medieval theme throughout. From looking at some newer photos, it looks like it could have recently been renovated. Still consistent with the castle and medieval theme, but more updated.

The lobby does offer foreign exchange services to guests, as well as multi-lingual staff.

Additionally, they have a restaurant on-site. It was a great place to eat dinner after checking in and getting settled in the room. I was pretty impressed with the food, and would definitely eat there again.

The hotel does also offer a complimentary shuttle service for guests to use.

However, because the shuttle is complimentary, the line can form fairly early in the morning. Which can be longer than actually walking to the parks.

I personally recommend walking to the parks in the morning and then taking the shuttle back to the hotel at the end of the day. It is much more convenient, and definitely nicer after a long day at the parks on your feet.

DoubleTree Anaheim

This was a great hotel to stay at with kids!

During this trip, it was my roommate and me, along with our best friend, her husband, and their 3 kids. We all decided to share one room to help cut costs!

Protip: Usually when you have more than 2 adults, they charge you more per night. However, the cost is still way cheaper than paying for a second room. So if you’re on a budget, this could be an excellent way to save money.
For example, one hotel only charged an extra $30/night for 2 additional adults. Definitely way cheaper than spending another $100+ for a second room.

For my group, the purpose of the hotel is to mainly sleep. We don’t really require fancy rooms.

However, this room fully knocked our socks off with how spacious and incredible it was. There was more than enough room for all of us in this 2 Bedroom Suite (I think) we stayed in.

The room had a total of 4 Queen beds, 2 showers, 2 toilets, and double sink vanity. Which was perfect for our group’s needs.

There was also a separate room in the back (which is why I think it was a 2 bedroom suite). So the layout was room (with 2 beds, desk, and tv), the bathroom area (with full double sink vanity and 2 rooms for the shower and toilets), and then another room (with 2 beds, desk, and tv).

This layout was so cool and great for our group, allowed privacy and separate space for everyone.

Which is why I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting with children. Having a separate room, along with enough bathroom space for everyone to get ready is just really handy.

Hyatt House Anaheim Hotel

This hotel was probably about the furthest away from the parks that I have ever stayed, but it is still within walking distance. It is classified as being about half a mile to a mile away from the parks.

But it still only takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the entrance of Downtown Disney District.

My group ended up scoring a really good deal when we stayed here due to them revamping a large section of the hotel. We ended up staying in a mini-suite with a separate bedroom and full kitchenette.

It really was an incredible place to stay. I wish that our trip was a bit longer than it was so that we could have taken full advantage of the awesome room that we had.

It is definitely a place that I want to stay at again, and it is high on my ‘must revisit’ hotel list.

Another perk to staying here is that there is a Walgreens below the hotel, which is great in case you realize you forgot to pack one or two things that you might need.

There are also plenty of restaurants across the street giving plenty of options in case you go back to the hotel or out of the parks for lunch/dinner.

Additionally, there is a 7-Eleven diagonally from the hotel, which is great for a quick breakfast on the go. Which is almost a tradition for me on Disney trips, go to 7-eleven grab a quick breakfast for the road, and an energy drink.

As you can tell from the little snippets I’ve shared about the hotels that I’ve stayed at, each hotel brings its own positives to a vacation.

Across the Street

Staying at an Anaheim Hotel that this across the street from Disneyland is probably the most ideal.

Staying so close means that you don’t have to worry about transportation to and from the parks, as most are within a 5-minute walk away from the gates.

Plus, (let’s face it) it is just really cool to look out your hotel window and see the parks!

Where usually, close proximity to the parks means that they are a bit more expensive but this isn’t always the case. There are plenty of options where the prices are actually reasonable and affordable for a variety of budgets.

Anaheim Hotels that are right across the street from Disneyland are usually the first hotels to get booked up for Disney stays.

If that is the case, then staying a little bit further away from the parks is always a good option as well. Typically it can also mean a bit of a decrease in price for the overall stay.

Usually at this distance, you need to start to consider transportation to and from the parks depending on group size.

With being less than half a mile away, walking is still a very good option. However, if not everyone in your party wants to walk, most of the hotels listed do offer some kind of transportation to and from the parks.

Transportation provided by hotels can sometimes be complementary and sometimes costs an additional fee. The cost varies by hotel, so this is something to keep in mind when thinking of budget and the overall trip.

More than one mile

These are the Good Neighbor hotels that are the furthest away from the parks, but still doable for walking.

If walking to the parks isn’t something that you are interested in, all of these Good Neighbor Hotels do offer a Shuttle Service to the parks for an additional fee.

Of course, driving to the parks is also an option, but parking at a Disney parking structure not only costs but also fills up fast. Additionally, they only open about an hour prior to parks opening, not giving a lot of time to get through security and get to the parks.is also an option when going to the parks, but remember that parking structures can fill up fast, and only open within an hour prior to park opening.

Obviously from the list above, there are a lot of different options to choose from when it comes to Good Neighbor Hotels in Anaheim for a Disneyland trip.

There really is no right or wrong hotel for your trip. When making the decision on where to stay, you have to think about what is best for yourself or your group.

Some tips to consider when making the decision are:
– Distance from Parks
– Cost
– Transportation to and from Parks
– Current promotions at hotels

If you plan on doing more than just Disney while staying in Anaheim, then I suggest staying at a hotel that is slightly further away from Disneyland. This can help cut down on drive time to the other destinations.
