Most of the treats that are offered seasonally are only available during the after-hours event. However, there are a few items that are offered during regular park hours at Magic Kingdom.

Because Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, takes place in Magic Kingdom, all of these treats will be available in Magic Kingdom. Some items are only offered during the after-hours event, while others are offered at Magic Kingdom all day.

Typically, each park at Disney World will host their style of Halloween fun during Halloween time.

The Beak and Barrel Backstory

No Disney eatery would be complete without a good backstory, and The Beak and Barrel is no different. So let’s dive into the story of how this new tavern is going to be joining Adventureland.

The Beak and Barrel is owned by Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, accompanied by her first mate Rummy. The two of them make a legendary pair of rumrunners, who have traveled around the world discovering the very best food and drinks from the seven seas.

Rummy is Merry’s most trusted friend and first mate. Though very talkative, he does an excellent job as the tavern’s quartermaster. He ensures that guests enjoy their time and can often be found telling stories of when Rummy and Merry were sailing the seas.

He can primarily be found relaxing above the bar, Rummy still takes his job very seriously and ensures that the tavern is well.

Fun Fact: Some true Disney World Pirates of the Caribbean fans might notice that Rummy looks a lot like Barker Bird that sat at the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean. Barker Bird left his post a while ago and hasn’t been seen since.

Additionally, there is an Enchanted Rum Bottle found at the bar. The bottle was a gift from the enchantress Tia Dalma to Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn.

Park the Plot: Does enchantress Tia Dalma sound familiar? She was first introduced in the second Pirates of the Caribbean film, Dead Man’s Chest. Tia Dalma is the human form of the sea goddess Calypso who was the love of Davy Jones.

In the Captain’s Quarters there are five miniature ships in glass bottles mounted above the fireplace. Each bottle represents a pirate from the different parts of the world (possibly ships we’ve already been introduced to) coming together to defeat the tyranny.

The Captains Quarters have also been rumored to once be the living quarters of a great Spanish Comandante.

What To Expect At The Beak and Barrel

The Beak and Barrel is set to have savory sips, and delicious bites that will send your taste buds on an adventure! Not to mention all of the decor around the tavern that has so much happening there is always something to discover.

There are two primary areas within The Beak and Barrel; The Mess, and Captains’ Quarters.

The Mess is the main central space for guests to meet and join, featuring long tables so ‘pirates’ can join together and share stories.

The bar within The Mess, is easily identifiable with its’ skull-shaped stern in the middle. At the bar, you might see Rummy sitting above ensuring that everything is in ship-shape. Or you might find Rummy along the bar’s edge giving toasts to pirates, or sharing stories of him and Merry sailing the seven seas.

The Captains’ Quarters continues the pirate vibe with slashed curtains and paintings where a pirate fight probably broke out. The main ‘attraction’ in this room is the miniature ships in a bottle.

If you look closely you might be able to see these ships come to life in battle.

Closing The Gates On: The Beak and Barrel

Exciting news that a new themed dining experience is going to be arriving at Disney World. Get ready for a full Pirates of the Caribbean themed tavern for all ages to enjoy. This new eatery is going to be called The Beak and Barrel.

Enjoy a fully immersive experience as you enter into The Beak and Barrel. Raise a glass with Rummy as he shares tales of his time out at sea. Delight in savory sips and delicious bites harnessing flavors from all over the pirate world.

The Beak and Barrel comes with it’s own fun backstory, and will be available later this year in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom for you to enjoy.

Unfortunately, these are all of the details that we really know about this new dining experience. Be sure to save this post, and check back frequently as it will be updated with more details as it gets released.

As important as they are, dealing with hotel refurbishments is never fun. When trying to plan a vacation, avoiding hotel refurbishments is always ideal, but sometimes they are inevitable.

Disney does a really good job at trying to minimize the amount of refurbishment that takes place at a single resort. Additionally, Disney does its best to ensure that during refurbishment time, most to all hotel amenities are still offered to hotel guests.

The extra Disney magic comes with Disney announcing and posting what will be down and for how long, as well as notifying guests of any alternative amenities that are offered to replace what’s getting refurbished. This makes it a lot easier to plan around any construction zone.

What To Expect During Disney World Hotel Refurbishments

Hotel refurbishments and construction is a blanket term that can cover one or many different things happening at a specific hotel. If you don’t know what to expect, staying at a hotel during the refurbishment process can be a little intimidating.

Firstly, I cannot emphasize enough that Disney does everything in its power to minimize and prevent any construction around the hotel from disturbing the overall guest experience.

With that being said, let’s break down what is meant when we say ‘hotel refurbishment’ when at a Disney Property,

Types of Disney World Hotel Construction

As stated above, Disney Property has different hotel construction or refurbishment types. Some are minor and go almost unnoticeable if you stay there during that time, while others can affect where you soak up the sun, hanging out poolside.

Planned Maintenance:
This is construction that is regular, typically the shortest type of construction/refurbishments at the resort. The planned maintenance usually happens annually at the same time.

For example, during winter months, only one of the Disney World Water Parks will be open, while the other is down for planned maintenance. Then, the water parks switch. This allows both parks to receive the necessary regular maintenance while also giving guests an opportunity to enjoy and experience one of the Walt Disney World Water Parks.

Unavailable:
When an area is unavailable, like a store or an attraction, there will be nothing about that area that is open to the public. This type of refurbishment usually has a general idea of how long it will be unavailable, but sometimes there is not.

Room Refurbishments:
If a hotel is going to have room refurbishment, typically, Disney will close down a section of the hotel that is being redone. This allows the least disturbance to guests while also completing much-needed work.

If you are staying at a hotel that is having room refurbishments done, know that during the daytime hours, there might be workers and construction sounds that can be heard.

Current Disney World Resort Hotel Refurbishments:

The following are Disney World Hotel Refurbishments scheduled for next year, 2025. Some of the construction started in 2024, but for the most part, they are all starting next year.

These resort refurbishments can include: rooms, pool areas, restaurants, and shops.

Each location down for refurbishments has all the known information listed. Note that any of these can change at any time. I will do my best to keep this post as up-to-date as possible.

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Topolino’s Terrace will be unavailable for planned maintenance from Jan. 12 – 25.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

The Barbados leisure pool will be closed from July 29, 2025, through September 2025. The other four leisure pools, as well as The Fuentes del Morro Pool, will still be available for hotel resort guests to enjoy during that time.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

From January 2025 until April 2025, Fantasia Pool will be closed for routine maintenance. During daytime hours, guests may see or hear construction work. The Duck Pond Pool will remain open at the resort for guests to enjoy during the maintenance.

From mid-August 2025 through the end of November, Rialto in the World Premiere Food Court will be closed for refurbishment.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

From September 29 to November 30, 2024, the Everything POP Food Court will undergo refurbishment. This means that you will have to use alternate entrances to get to the food court, will have limited seating during that time.

Beginning September 30, 2024, Everything POP Shopping & Dining will undergo refurbishment. The store will be partially open for guests to shop, but be weary of pixie dust, and less room to open. There currently is no date set for refurbishment ending.

From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, some guest rooms at the resort will undergo refurbishment. During this time, all amenities will remain available to guests.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools will be available at the resort for guests to enjoy while these pools are under routine maintenance.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Some guest rooms will be refurbished from January 2025 through May 2025. However, most Resort amenities will still be available for guests to enjoy. You may also hear some construction work during the day during this time.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Room refurbishment will occur in Bay Lake Tower from September 2024 until September 2025. This refurbishment will also affect Skybridge, which will have temporary intermittent closures. It is best to try and find an alternate route to and from Bay Lake Tower, however detours will be available on some days.

Additionally, don’t be surprised if you can hear construction throughout Bay Lake Tower.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

A lot of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently under refurbishment. Unfortunately, this means that during the day, guests will be able to hear construction throughout the resort (including the lobby and other popular areas).

Most of the amenities will be available for hotel guests at this time. However, due to routes and areas with limited access, it is important to allow some extra time to get to and from the resort.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: Villas & Bungalows

Nearly the whole Resort is undergoing refurbishments and enhancements. The refurbishments started in 2024, and will continue through sometime in 2026.

To help make the vacation magical, limiting disruptions, Disney is going to limit noisy construction activities to start after 9 am.

Refurbishment work is subject to change due to operational needs or weather conditions.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Port Orleans – French Quarter is going under some big refurbishments. Many guest rooms at the resort are going to be under refurbishments from May 2024 until Spring 2025.

Construction sounds will be heard through out the day, but most hotel amenities will still remain available for guests to enjoy.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

Magnolia Bend at Port Orleans—Riverside will undergo refurbishment from April 2025 until January 2026, which will lead to construction sounds during daytime hours.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Boulder Ridge Villas, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

Copper Creek Villas and Cabins will be under refurbishment from May 2025 until September 2025. Most refurbishment work will take place during daytime hours, but resort amenities will remain available to hotel guests.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Horseback Riding will be unavailable from July 13, 2024, until further notice. This resort activity is closed only Monday through Friday, but it will be available on the weekend for guests to enjoy.

The course is closed due to construction that will be during the week to try and limit the disruptions it has upon guests.

Disney World Golf Courses

Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course has been under construction for some time now. Recently, their 14-hole course opened. The hope is that by the end of 2024, the 18-hole course will be ready for guests to enjoy.

Disney’s Palm Golf Course, and Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course remain open.

The Final Pixie Dust: Disney World Hotel Refurbishment

Knowing the hotel refurbishment schedule before staying at a Disney World Resort can help you understand what you’re walking into for your vacation. Thankfully, Disney understands that no one wants to deal with refurbishment and tries to give plenty of advance notice for closures.

Additionally, Disney does everything possible to minimize the disruptions that the construction causes, limiting work to day time hours when most guests are at the parks.

I personally have stayed at a few Disney resorts when construction has been taking place, and other then having to take an alternate route, it was almost unnoticeable! The Disney magic is still alive and well even with the ‘pixie dust’ that takes place.

Disney World offers a special ticket for those that wish to visit a specific park after the park closes to the general admission guests. While it is similar to the After Dark Events that are hosted throughout the year, with the After Hours, there is no special celebration or holiday in focus.

Purchasing an After Hours ticket can be a great way to spend a little bit more time in a park with shorter wait times for select rides, special character encounters, as well as special snacks.

In the past, the After Hours events have been very popular, and are only offered on select nights during select months. Disney World has been offering After Hours Nites since January, and originally planned on ending the nites at the beginning of summer. However, they have recently announced that they will be continuing the After Hours Nites until early Fall.

This post will go over everything that you will need to know about Disney World After Hours, so you can learn how to maximize your time, and take advantage of enjoying the parks after the park closes!

What To Expect at After Hours at Disney World

After Hours is a special separate ticketed option for guests who wish to visit Disney World in the evening hours, after the park has closed to the general admission tickets. The After Hours Ticket allows guests to enter the selected park as early as 7 p.m. and allows you to stay for up to three hours after the park has closed!

When you enter the park at 7pm, not only does it mean entering the park prior to the event starting, but it also means that you can enjoy the nighttime spectaculars that are offered at the Park that evening.

Once the event has started, you can enjoy many popular attractions with shorter wait times, meeting your favorite Disney Characters! Additionally you can also enjoy ice cream, popcorn and bottled beverages (included in ticket cost) during the event!

There is no park hopping or Lightning Lane access during the After Dark event. And each park only offers the After Hours on select nights.

Each park, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios offers a slightly different evening in what they each offer during their After Hours.

Let’s break down to see what each park specifically offers, and when the After Hours starts at each park.

Disney World After Hours at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was the first Disney World Park to bring back After Hours, on January 6, 2025. And the After Hours event will continue through September.

Note: As of right now, Disney World hasn’t announced the dates for the continuation of After Hours at Magic Kingdom, but we expect to hear them soon.

Since we don’t have the continued dates for Magic Kingdom, this is what we know about the After Hours at Magic Kingdom from the nights that have been held earlier this year.

After Hours at Magic Kingdom officially starts at 10 pm, but ticketed guests will be able to enter Magic Kingdom as early at 7 pm.

There will be a special firework spectacular Disney Enchantment, that will only be available for the guests at Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom.

Pro Tip: If you enter Magic Kingdom at 7 pm for the event, then you will be able to see Happily Ever After (showing for regular park guests), as well as Disney Enchantment in the same evening.

The event ends at 1 am, so if you’re looking to maximize you total time with this ticket, you can enjoy up to 6 hours of added Magic Kingdom fun.

Magic Kingdom After Hours Attractions

Most of the attractions for Magic Kingdom will be available for After Hour guests to enjoy. Including the very popular attractions like: Tron Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Both of these rides will be available with a standby queue. So you don’t have to worry about the hassle of getting a virtual queue during the After Hours.

Additionally, guests can also enjoy Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, as well as all the other Magic Kingdom favorites.

Before buying tickets to After Hours at Magic Kingdom, be sure to check out the attraction Height Requirements, and check the height of the little ones in your group!

Magic Kingdom After Hours Dates

As stated earlier, After Hours isn’t available every night, but only on select nights from January until May September. All events have so far, taken place on Wednesday nights. It is fairly safe to assume that the Wednesday nights will continue through September.

Disney World After Hours at EPCOT

Disney After Hours at EPCOT takes place on select nights, from February 27 until September 25, 2025. The event officially starts at 10 pm, and goes until 1 am. But remember that guests with an After Hours ticket can enter EPCOT as early as 7 pm.

EPCOT After Hours Attractions

Nearly all EPCOT attractions will be available for guests to enjoy during the After Hours event. Including, but not limited to; Soarin’ Around the World, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.

Don’t worry, other favorites like Living with the Land, Mission: SPACE, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Spaceship Earth will also be available during the event.

All of these attractions will be available through standby queue, no virtual queue or lightning lane will be available during the After Hours event.

Before buying a ticket for EPCOT After Hours, be sure to double check the height of the little ones in the group, and check out EPCOT Height Requirements.

Characters at After Hours at EPCOT

Like with most other special events that take place at Disney, there will be unique and special meet and greets available to event guests. This can be a great opportunity to meet some of your favorite characters in a different outfit, and usually with less of a wait time.

Guests can look forward to seeing guests like:

• Mickey Mouse – located at the Dreamer statue
• Goofy – located at the DJ Dance party at CommuniCore Plaza
• Minnie Mouse – located at the France gazebo

After Hours at EPCOT: Snacks

Tickets to Disney After Hours also includes some snacks during the event hours. These snacks include Ice Cream, Popcorn, and select bottled beverages!

In order to get these included you must visit one of the following carts:

• Mission: SPACE cart
• Imagination Cart
• Connections Cart
• Fountain Popcorn Cart

Additionally, there will be snacks available for purchase throughout the World Showcase.

EPCOT After Hours Dates

Disney World After Hours at Hollywood Studios

Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios kicked off on January 22, 2025. On select nights from January until September, you can enjoy this event. The After Hours officially starts at 9:30 pm and goes until 12:30 am.

The After Hours at Hollywood Studios does start 30 minutes earlier then the After Hours events at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. However, you are still able to get in to the park hours prior to the start of the event, at 7pm.

Hollywood Studios After Hours Attractions

Hollywood Studios has some of the favorite thrilling attractions Disney World has to offer. During the After Hours event, you can look forward to enjoying Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Toy Story Mania!, Alien Swirling Saucers, Slinky Dog Dash, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Note: purchasing event tickets, doesn’t guarantee access to these attractions, and does not take into account any possible closures or refurbishment that could take place during the event dates.

Pro Tip: Measure the height of the little ones, and check out Hollywood Studio height requirements to ensure everyone will be tall enough to ride their favorite rides.

Hollywood Studios After Hours: Snacks

Staying late at a Disney park means you must have a late night snack! Enjoy ice cream, popcorn and bottled beverages from select stations included with the purchase of the event ticket.

The snacks must be ‘purchased’ from one of the following stations:

• Grand Avenue
• Hollywood Boulevard
• Sunset Boulevard
• Toy Story Land

If you’re craving a little something more, these locations will also be available during After Hours. Enjoying food from the following locations will need to be purchased, as they are not included in the purchase of the After Hours ticket.

• Milk Stand
• Woody’s Lunch Box
• KRNR The Rock Station
• Oga’s Cantina (Walk-up availability only)

Hollywood Studios After Hours Dates

After Hours at Hollywood Studios takes place on select nights from January until the start of September. The event usually happens on Friday nights during those months.

The following dates are for After Hours at Hollywood Studios:

*Note that on Friday March 26, and Thursday April 1, the After Hours event time will change to 10 pm until 1 am. This time change for the event will only apply to those two event dates.

After Hours at Disney World: Ticket Cost

The ticket cost for the After Hours event depends on which park and which date you plan on going to. Which is very typical for all of the Disney World events.

It is important to note that this is not a ticket add-on. This After Hours Ticket can be used as a stand alone ticket to get you into the park as early as 7 pm.

The After Hours ticket will only be valid for the date and park that is selected at the time of purchase. This ticket cannot be used to park hop from park to park, and cannot be used to to access After Hours at a different park other then the one that it is purchased for.

If you’re planning on taking advantage of the After Hours, make sure that the night you want to enjoy After Hours is available and is at the park that you want.

The cost of tickets for After Hours at Disney World are the following for the parks:
Magic Kingdom – $175 to $185
EPCOT – $155 to $185
Hollywood Studios – $155 to $185

The cost of the After Hours ticket does depend on which park, and which night you attend.

Now if the price of the tickets seem a bit steep for the amount of time that you spend in the park, it is important to know that you are able to get ice cream, popcorn, and select bottled beverages included (at select locations) with the ticket.

Disney has also announced that Disney World Annual Passholders, as well as Disney Vacation Club members can save $30 per ticket for After Hours at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Ticket sales open on September 4, 2024, for Disney World Resort hotel guests, WDW Swan and Dolphin Hotel guests, as well as Shands of Green hotel guests. On September 10, 2024, After Hours tickets go on sale to the general public.

If you’re planning on purchasing this event ticket, I recommend purchasing your ticket as soon as possible, as most nights sell out quickly.

Closing The Gates On: After Hours at Disney World

One of the best ways to enjoy Disney World is at night, and with the After Hours ticket, guests are able to enjoy a Disney World park on select nights after the park closes to the general public.

An After Hours ticket allows you to access a specific park, on a specific date for hours of fun after the parks have closed to the general public. This is a great way to get all the last minute Disney magic that the parks have to offer.

With limited tickets sold, this means you have a greater chance to ride those attractions that typically have the longest wait times. Didn’t get the virtual queue for a ride you really wanted? Completely fine with the After Hours ticket, as there are no lightning lanes, or virtual queues. Everything is standby lane!

After Hours at Disney World can be a great way to do a half day at a park, or to extend an already great day at a Disney World park that you are having.

After Hours is only available on select nights at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios.

Halloween time is one of the most popular times to visit Walt Disney World and for a good reason! Halloween decor surrounds the four parks, special festive treats, and your favorite characters in costumes. Not to mention the after-hours event, Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a limited-time, limited-ticket, after-hours event that is great fun for the whole family! During the event, you can enjoy Magic Kingdom in your Halloween costume after the general public leaves for a Not So Scary celebration!

This post will cover all of the ‘scary’ details you need to know for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! 

Please note that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party differs from Oogie Boogie Bash. Oogie Boogie Bash is the Halloween-themed Disneyland party in California. Mickey’s Not So Scary is a Halloween-themed party at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Let’s go over all the details that you will need to know about this event. You can plan your best Disney World trip while attending Mickey’s Not So Scary.

Note: Most of this information is from previous years’ parties. As Walt Disney World has only just recently started to make announcements with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party updates for the 2025 event. Be sure to check back as I will be updating this as more information gets announced.

What To Expect at Mickey’s Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event held annually at the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World. It is a great way to celebrate the fall and Halloween seasons with your favorite Disney characters, including villains!

Now, during regular park hours, you should be able to find all of your favorite Magic Kingdom characters dressed in Halloween costumes. But at Mickey’s Halloween event, there will be exclusive characters that you won’t see during regular park hours!

This also includes seeing many of our favorite Villains and characters in their costume throughout the after-dark event!

The festivities come to life after the park closes to the general public. Attendees can enjoy a special parade, seasonal nighttime spectacular, seasonal overlays of their favorite ride (Haunted Mansion), special treats, trick-or-treating, and more!

Most of the special shows and parades occur multiple times throughout the night, typically shortly after the other. This makes it so much easier to stay in one spot and enjoy all of the festivities!

Mickey’s Halloween Party Parade

Disney events are only complete with their very own unique parade! And Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is no different! 

During event nights, guests will be able to view the special parade called “Boo To You”! This parade typically runs twice during one night and goes through most of Magic Kingdom. There are plenty of great spots to view the parade, no matter where you are in Magic Kingdom.

The parade will also include our favorite Villains! Be on the lookout for classics like Maleficent, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar, as well as characters from more recent Disney films like Bruno.

Additionally, for the 2025 Halloween season, Disney World has decided to listen to the event’s guests and have the parade start earlier! Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade will be held during event nights at 8:15 pm and again at 11:15 pm.

Nighttime Show: No-So-Spooky-Spectacular

In addition to a special Halloween-themed parade, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party also offers an exclusive Nighttime spectacular show called Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.

During every event night (weather permitting), you can enjoy a nighttime spectacular that includes fireworks, characters, and unique projections.

The show includes Jack Skellington, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and many other Disney villains.

The Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is set to start at 10 p.m., so be sure to get there early to get a good viewing spot!

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

In addition to the nighttime spectacular, there is a Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular to celebrate the villains. Where you can see the Sanderson Sisters work their magic!

The Sanderson Sisters cast a magical spell that also brings Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie and Maleficent to the stage!

This show happens multiple times throughout the event night, so if you miss one, you can catch another.

The Hocus Pocus Spelltacular can be enjoyed at the following dates and times.

August 9 – September 28:
9:05 pm, 10:40 pm, 12 am.

September 29 – October 31:
7:40 pm, 9:05 pm, 10:40 pm, 12 am.

Moonlight Melodies

Looking for something that the little ones can enjoy? Then, find one of the dance parties taking place throughout the Magic Kingdom.

Disney Junior fans can head down to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe to dance the night away with their favorite Disney Junior characters.

Frontierland will hold The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet, where you can enjoy great singing and punny jokes.

Adventureland hosts Rusty Cutlass, a pirate band that plays tunes and songs throughout the land for young adventurers to enjoy.

For the 2024 Halloween season, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will have Ascend to the dance floor, inspired by the latest Descendant movie!

Food At Mickey’s Halloween Party

Throughout the night, guests will have many different food options available. Disney is planning to release a whole list of themed bites to savor during the event.

The whole snack and treat list hasn’t been released yet. However, we can guarantee that some of the favorites from previous years can be enjoyed again this year.

This includes Bowl of Bones and Terrifyin’ Twice-Spiced Chicken.

If you would like to take a break, sit down, and enjoy some table service during the event, you can always book a reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table, or The Plaza Restaurant.

Dessert Parties at Mickey’s Not So Scary

There are also a few different reservable specialty dining options during the Halloween party nights. It is recommended that you try to reserve these dining options as soon as you can, as they will book up quickly the closer we get to the start of the events.

It is important to note that if your Disney World vacation includes a Disney Dining Plan, these reservable experiences do not apply to the Disney Dining Plan. And the experience will need to be paid for.

Another note is that Dessert Parties take place rain or shine, with our without fireworks. 

Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace

This dessert party takes place at Tomorrowland Terrace in Tomorrowland.

Personal Tip: I have done Tomorrowland Terrace dining experiences at Disneyland, and they have been so much fun. I would be booking this experience for the event.

Booking this dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrace gives you two hours of enjoyment of various Halloween-themed sweet treats and delectable bites. And after you’ve eaten your fill, you can sit back and enjoy the fireworks display over Cinderella’s Castle.

Additionally, you can enjoy sweet treats hand-crafted by one of Disney’s pastry chefs. Adults over 21 can also enjoy an assortment of beer and wine.*

Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Cost

Adults (age 10+) start at $111.73 per person, and children (ages 3 – 9) start at $70.42 per person. The price of the dessert party varies by the night selected.

The experience cost must be paid in full when booking the dessert party.

In order to get a full refund, cancelation must be given prior to one-day before the night booked. If canceled within one day, no refund will be given, and it will be labeled as a ‘no-show’.

No-So-Spooky Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing

Similar to the Tomorrowland Terrace dessert party. The difference is that when viewing the fireworks, you get escorted to a special viewing area at the Plaza Garden.

You still have 2 hours to enjoy the Tomorrowland Terrace, which features themed treats, exceptional pastries, and unique beverages*.

The only difference is that you will be viewing the show from the Plaza Garden rather than the Tomorrowland Terrace.

Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing Cost

The cost for this experience varies by the night selected. Adults (ages 10+) will start at $92.95 per person, and children (ages 3 – 9) will start at $55.39 per child.

Again, the price of the experience must be paid in full when booking it. Having a reservation for a dessert party doesn’t guarantee admission to the party. Tickets for the same night of Mickey’s Not So Scary must be purchased in order to access your Dessert Party reservation.

*Valid identification will be required to consume alcoholic beverages.

Trick-or-Treat Spots at Mickey’s Halloween Party

This year, there are six different locations where you can go trick-or-treating. Lines can get long very quickly but move quickly, so don’t be discouraged if you see a long line.

Additionally, treat lines tend to get shorter during event shows like the parade or spectacular.

Halloween Party Time

This after-hours event starts at 7 p.m. in Magic Kingdom and ends at midnight! This means that there will be five hours of Halloween Disney fun.

This means the park will close early for the general public, only for Magic Kingdom. The other parks will have regular hours.

Guests who have tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, are able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm without a theme park ticket to Magic Kingdom.

Mickey’s Halloween Party: Tickets

Disney Worlds’ Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party offers two types of event tickets. You can purchase an adult ticket (ages 10 and older) or a child ticket (ages 3 to 9). Children under 3 do not need a ticket for the event.

 Guests over three years old must have a ticket.

The cost of tickets ranges depending upon the night of the event that you go to. Children’s tickets are about $10 cheaper than adult tickets on that night.

Last year, adult tickets ranged between $119 to $199 a night, and children’s tickets ranged between $109 to $189 a night.

For 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets, mark your calendars for May! As that is when they are going on sale!

Guests that are staying at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green will be able to purchase their tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary starting May 15, 2025.

Tickets will be available on May 22, 2025 for all other guests!

Mickey’s Halloween Party: Accessibility

Wondering how accessible Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is? Disney theme parks are one of the best places to visit for accommodation. Disney works hard to ensure that all of their guests feel the magic and have an enjoyable time.

Note: This information is from the 2024 event. Disney World hasn’t released any additional information about the current years accommodations. Once the information is available I will make the appropriate updates.

American Sign Language interpreters during event shows are just one of the many accessibility options available during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. For three nights, one each month of the party, American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters will be available at the nightly shows.

American Sign Language Interpreters will be available for guests on August 23, September 26, and October 24. They will be available during the Parade, Nighttime Spectacular, and the Spelltacular for those three nights.

If you need interpretation for another evening of the event, Disney is willing to make adjustments and send the interpreters there, as long as you schedule it at least two weeks in advance. You can contact Disney about interpreting services here.

Food Allergies and Trick or Treating

One of the highlights of going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is being able to go trick-or-treating. If you’re a child with a food allergy, this might be something that makes you feel left out. To ensure that everyone is included, Disney offers special treat bags for guests with food allergies.

With one of these special treat bags, you can get tokens instead of candy. At the end of the night, you can trade the tokens in for allergy-friendly options!

It is effortless to get one of these teal bags. At the start of the event, notify a cast member of your food allergy. They will give you a teal treat bag rather than the normal one that they hand out to guests.

When going through the different treat trails, cast members will give the teal-bagged individuals tokens at each station. At the end of the night, there are two different locations to exchange the tokens for enjoyable treats.

Allergen tokens can be exchanged at the Liberty Square Ticket Office until midnight. Or at the Chamber of Commerce until 12:30 am.

What rides are available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween?

Most of Magic Kingdom is open for event guests to enjoy throughout the night. A few rides add a little extra Halloween spirit.

The Holiday Season at Walt Disney World officially kicks off on November 8, 2025! Which means lots of holiday festivities and treats to enjoy! Disney has just announced that they will bring back their newer after-hours holiday event, Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Jollywood Nights!

This is one of the newest events added to the Disney World events, with the first event debuting on November 11, 2023.

Despite Jollywood Nights only being around for the past couple of years, it is very quickly becoming a fun way to celebrate the holidays at Disney World. So you better grab tickets fast, as this event will only happen for 13 select nights!

What to Expect at Jollywood Nights

Jollywood Nights is a Hollywood-style Holiday party with all the bells and whistles! Disney has announced that there will be different areas for guests to enjoy throughout Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each area offers various festivities, each inspired by different genres.

Here are some things to look forward to at Jollywood Nights:

• A live DJ will be playing a mix of holiday tunes towards the entrance of Hollywood Studios. 
• Kermit and Miss Piggy will host a holiday special (Live!) at Theater of the Stars, which will also include Disney friends.
• Hyperion Theater will host a sing-along to Nightmare Before Christmas called What’s This?
• The Hollywood Brown Derby and the Hollywood Tower Hotel Courtyard will host limited-capacity entertainment experiences.
• Street fair at Holiday Fiesta en la Calle.
• Enjoy Twilight SiorEE at the Tip Top Club, a.k .a. The Hollywood Tower Hotel.
• Nighttime spectacular Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will return at the night’s end, including state-of-the-art technology and special effects for an incredible ending.

Additionally, guests can look forward to many photo opportunities throughout the night, which will all be complimentary and available for download (as it’s included in the event ticket).

Confirmed Character Appearances:

Special events also mean unique character sightings. The following characters have been confirmed to be present at Jollywood Nights.

Attractions Available

Another perk of going to a limited-ticketed special event is that most of the attractions in that park are available for guests to enjoy throughout the event. Jollywood Nights is no different!

Even though no Lightning Lanes are available during these special events, the lines are typically shorter because they are held at a limited-capacity, the lines are typically shorter.

If you’re attending Jollywood Nights, you can look forward to Slinky Dog Dash, Rock N’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and many others.

Note: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be utilizing a virtual queue during the Jollywood Nights event.

This new sing-along adventure joints Jack Skellington and his friends on a journey to unknown places to conquer Oogie Boogie! With all your favorite songs from Tim Burton’s original movie, this is a fun holiday scene to enjoy.

Now, this isn’t the first time that Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM has been a nighttime spectacular at Walt Disney World. However, with its grand return, it will only be returning for the select Jollywood Nights and will only be available for those Jollywood Night guests.

If you are unfamiliar with Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM, then you are in for a real treat. This nighttime projection show will showcase some favorite holiday moments from Disney films. With projections being on the Chinese Theater, it truly is an incredible show filled with some of the best technology and fireworks for a remarkable show.

Jollywood Nights Dates:

As stated before, this will only take place on thirteen select nights during the holiday at Disney’s Holiday Studios. That’s right, this is a very limited, select nights, during November and December will you have a chance to attend this unique holiday party!

The following are the November dates for Jollywood Nights:

The following are the December dates for Jollywood Nights:

And don’t worry, if you are planning or thinking about going to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, none of the dates for Jollywood Nights conflict. If you wish to attend both, you absolutely can!

Jollywood Nights Hours:

This holiday extravaganza starts at 7:30 pm and ends at 12:30 am, which means this is a four-hour event to get into the holiday spirit.

Those who do have tickets to Jollywood Nights are allowed to enter the parks as early as 5:30 pm if you enter the event at 5:30 pm, that gives you an additional hour and a half to enjoy yourself.

(You also don’t need a theme park reservation to enter the park at 5:30 pm!)

Another perk to getting there earlier than the 7:30 pm start time is that you can hit the ground running at 7:30, and not be stuck in a line waiting to enter when it starts.

While even with the extra hour and a half, it might not seem like enough time to enjoy all of the festivities, that’s because it isn’t. There never is enough time to do everything that you want to do during these after-hours events. Trust me, time just always seems to fly by!

This is why it is best to understand as much as you can about what activities and festivities you wish to do during the evening and make a priority list. This will help make it easier to tackle the most important things.

Jollywood Nights Cost

Tickets for Jollywood Nights will be on sale starting July 22, to the general public.

As with most special events at Disney, tickets went on sale for select Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests on July 16.

The price range for tickets (from previous years) is $159 to $179 per person. The ticket prices for adults and children three and up are the same.

And always, don’t ever try to buy tickets to an after-hours event from anyone other than Disney. Purchasing these tickets can cause a lot of trouble, and they go against Disney’s policy.

What is Jollywood night at Disney?

Jollywood Nights is Disney’s newest Holiday event that takes place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is supposed to be a Hollywood-era-inspired holiday event for everyone to enjoy.

What is included with Jollywood Nights?

Your Jollywood Nights ticket includes entrance into the separate limited-capacity ticketed event, complimentary downloads of photos from the event, special character meet and greets, a holiday-themed menu to order from, and so much more.

Does Jollywood Nights include food?

The Jollywood Nights ticket does not come with food, however, there is a special themed menu available for guests to enjoy.

Is Jollywood Nights for kids?

Jollywood Nights can be for kids. There is no age restrictions on any of the festivities that take place at the event.* However, it is important to knat that the cost of a child’s ticket is the same cost as an adult ticket. Which is fairly common for after-hours special events.

Some argue that not having a child’s price for ticket’s means that they are discouraging children from attending, but it simply isn’t true. Disney has done that for nearly all of their separate ticketed events, Jollywood Nights is no different.

However, if you do have children and you are torn between going to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights, I would take smaller children to Mickey’s Very Merry, and older children to Jollywood Nights.

*Exception being that guests need to have valid ID and over 21 years old to purchase and consume alcohol.

What time can you enter Hollywood Studios for Jollywood Nights?

Guests with a valid Jollywood Nights ticket can enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios as early as 5:30 pm, about an hour and a half before the event starts.

If your goal is to make the most of your time and not have to wait in a line-up to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I would recommend getting there a little before 5:30 pm to ensure you get into the park in a timely manner.

What time does Hollywood Studios close for Jollywood Nights 2025?

If you have a regular park ticket and are in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you need to know that the park will close at 7 pm. This is only for guests who do not have tickets to that night’s Jollywood Nights event.

This is only about an hour earlier than a normal night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the park typically closes at 9 pm. However, I would always recommend checking the official park hours on the My Disney Experience App to confirm prior to your trip. 

Closing The Gates On: Jollywood Nights Guide

Jollywood Nights is a holiday-themed, limited-capacity, separate ticketed event that takes place on thirteen select nights in November and December in Disney’s Hollywood Studios park!

Jollywood Nights will include unique character meet and greets, complimentary photo downloads, a special Jollywood Nights menu filled with desserts and tasty dishes, and entertainment.

The event goes from 7:30 pm until 12:30 am! Giving you five hours of pure holiday fun! Tickets are on sale starting July 22. If you wish to attend, you better purchase the tickets quickly!

It is a great way to enjoy that vintage Hollywood Holiday era while also enjoying a Disney park during the holiday time. You won’t want to miss this event if you are a Disney fan and are ready for the holiday spirit!

Blizzard Beach Reopening History

Blizzard Beach had it’s grand re-opening in November 2023. This was huge as it was the first opening of Blizzard Beach since the pandemic closure. This was much later than the re-opening of all the other Walt Disney World parks, including their other water park Typhoon Lagoon.

All of those other parks reopened post pandemic in 2021, while Blizzard Beach remained closed for refurbishment.

Now, the two will be trading spots as Blizzard Beach re-opens and Typhoon Lagoon closes for refurbishment. There is currently no set date as to when Typhoon Lagoon will re-open.

Focusing on Blizzard Beach, let’s look at some exciting things we can look forward to with this re-opening.

Genie+ services launched at Walt Disney World in October 2021, and since then, it has been ever-changing from guest feedback to ensure it is the best service Disney can provide for their guests.

The Walt Disney World Genie+ service is quite different than what it used to be when it was first launched. It’s essential to see the current and most up-to-date information available to maximize your vacation.

Let’s dive into everything you need to know for Genie+ at Walt Disney World. There is information in this post if it is your first time visiting or if you have been to Walt Disney World a few times. I guarantee there is helpful information for you here.

What is Genie+?

If you don’t know what Genie+ is, guests can purchase a paid service to help ‘skip’ the lines for popular attractions. There are several applicable attractions at each of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World.

The ‘skip’ line feature is called Lightning Lane. Many attractions are included when a guest purchases Genie+; however, a few attractions in each park are separate and require the purchase of an individual lightning lane to ‘skip’ the line.

It is important to note that Genie+ does not take away the standby lane for attractions. Standby lanes for guests are still available.

Advantages of Using Genie+

There are several additional advantages of purchasing and using Genie+ services, as it offers more than just lightning lanes for popular attractions.

Guests who purchase Genie+ can also expect unlimited PhotoPass downloads from their day, including PhotoPass attraction photos (added feature starting October 11, 2023).

There are exclusive Genie+ Photo lenses that guests can enjoy when using the app, to give their photos a little more Disney Magic.

Also, exclusive audio experiences give Disney history and fun facts at various points throughout the parks.

How Much Does Genie+ Cost?

The cost of Genie+ depends on a few things, mainly which park you are purchasing Genie+ for. And don’t worry, if you are a park hopper, there are special deals for multiple park Genie+ that you can buy.

Guests can expect to pay between $16 – $25 for Genie+ services for individual parks. As well as about $25 for a multi-park Genie+ service.

Note: To purchase a multi-park Genie+ service, you need to have a valid Park Hopper Ticket and initial park reservation.

This is the cost for Genie+, and the lightning lanes are included. It does not include the Individual Lightning Lanes cost that must be purchased a la carte. (Those attractions and specific costs will be listed below).

For Individual Lightning Lane attractions, guests can expect to pay between $7 – $15 per person per attraction.

Prices for each Individual Lightning Lane will vary by attraction and by day of the week. More popular attractions will cost more, especially during high-traffic days.

Note: Prices listed are the before-tax price, and purchasing Genie+ services or individual lightning lanes are subject to tax.

Disney World Genie+ Lightning Lanes

There are two ‘kinds’ of lightning lanes that are available. Select Lightning Lanes are included when Genie+ services are purchased. As well as Individual Lightning Lanes that are purchased a la carte.

Knowing the difference between the two is essential, as they are not interchangeable, and you don’t want to pay for services you don’t want.

Lightning Lanes (Included)

With the purchase of Genie+ at Disney World, select Lightning Lanes are included with the purchase.

These rides guests are able to book starting at 7 am for Disney World Hotel Guests, and at park opening for all other guests.

All of the attractions are listed below, separated out by the park they are located in.

Magic Kingdom Lightning Lanes:

The following attractions are available when you purchase Genie+ for Magic Kingdom. Of the 24 attractions in Magic Kingdom, 22 are available on Genie+. This includes rides, parades, shows, and other attractions.

Only some of these attractions will always be available, so check refurbishment closures in the My Disney Experience App for your trip.

Individual Lightning Lanes (A La Carte)

The following are the Individual Lightning Lanes available for purchase per person per ride fee. These attractions can be purchased with or without purchasing Genie+ first.

Remember, the cost of each Individual Lightning Lane is paid per person. If three people in your group want Lightning Lane entrance to the attraction, you must purchase a Lightning Lane for all party members.

Magic Kingdom:
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – $10 to $12
TRON Lightcycle – $20

EPCOT:
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – $14 to $17

Animal Kingdom:
Avatar – Flight of Passage – $11 to $16

Hollywood Studios:

How to Get Genie+?

After all that information, you’ve decided purchasing Genie+ is worth it to help make the most of your Walt Disney World trip. So now what? How do you buy Genie+?

Genie+ is purchased directly in the My Disney Experience App (Guide to My Disney Experience App coming soon).

Your vacation package (at least your park tickets) must be linked to your My Disney Experience App. Without the valid tickets in the app under your account, you won’t be able to purchase Genie+.

How Does Genie+ Work at Disney World?

Genie+ can be purchased at midnight on the day of your visit. Once purchased, the first Lightning Lane can be booked at 7 a.m. for Disney World hotel guests and at the park opening for all other guests.

To reserve a Lightning Lane, head to the ‘Tip Board’ section in the My Disney Experience App. I always recommend that you select the option to only show Lightning Lane options. This makes it easier to browse the section of Genie+ Lightning Lanes (also ensure that you’re at for the day is selected at the top; the default is always Magic Kingdom).

Scroll through the list until you find the attraction you wish to book, and select book experience. The app will then take you to a page where you can select who will be going to the attraction. This will only allow you to select multiple people if they are all linked to the Disney World account and have all purchased Genie+. If only one person in the group has Genie+, then they will be the only eligible person.

Once you’ve selected everyone who is booking the experience, it will ask for you to confirm the selection. After it is confirmed, then the Lightning Lane experience will be listed under your future plans.

It really is that simple!

How to Redeem Lightning Lane Entry?

Redeeming your Lightning Lane Pass is extremely easy. Accessing your pass is pretty straightforward whether you have a Magic Band or not.

But don’t worry, I will go over both ways to redeem your Lightning Lane pass. 

Redeeming Without Magic Band:

When it is about 5 minutes before the start of your lightning lane, you will get a notification that it is time to redeem your Lightning Lane. You can either select the notification or open the app to redeem the Lightning Lane.

If you are already in the My Disney Experience App, you can go to your ‘plans’ section, and it will list your lightning lane selection. A button to redeem, once hit, a picture of the attraction, the attraction name, the time slot, the guest name, and a bar code to scan will be on the screen. If there is more than one person in your party, you must swipe to view all the lightning lanes.

Redeeming With Magic Band:

Just like when you redeem your lightning lane pass without a magic band. About 5 minutes before your selected time, you can lining up for the attraction.

When it is your turn, you just tap your magic band to the designated magic band area and a cast member will give you the okay to go on through.

If there is more then one person in your party, it is important to have all of the magic bands linked to one account, to make purchasing Genie+ for everyone easier, as well as booking the passes for the group easier as well.

When it comes to redeeming for multiple people, as long as everything is connected, each person can just tap their magic band to the redemption area and everyone will be good to go.

Disney World Genie+ FAQ:

Even though Genie+ has been out for a while, there are still a lot of questions about how to use Genie+ and whether or not it is worth it for your trip.

Can guests choose return times for an attraction?

At this time, Guests can only choose the next available return time. There is no way to select a specific time for a specific ride.

Hopefully this is something that changes in the future, however nothing has been mentioned yet.

Do I need to buy Genie+ for my trip?

Purchasing Genie+ is not a requirement for your trip, and if you are comfortable with waiting in line, then there really is no need to purchase Genie+ for your Disney World trip. You can still have a great trip at Disney World without purchasing Genie+

How does Genie+ work with Park Hopping?

Genie+ is typically purchased on a park basis. So if you are going to Animal Kingdom, you can purchase Genie+ just for Animal Kingdom. However, if you plan on park hopping, there is a special Genie+ option for you. It typically costs a flat rate of $25.

To purchase the park hoping Genie+ you will need a specific park hopping ticket, and park reservation. If you don’t have either one, the you will not be able to purchase the park hopping Genie+ service.

Can I make Genie Plus reservations 60 days in advance?

Unfortunately no you cannot. Genie+ at Disney World can only be purchased the day of your park ticket. Purchasing Genie+ prior to park opening (unless you’re staying on resort) is not available.

How many Genie Plus rides per day?

There is no limit to the number of total rides you and do in a day with Genie+, however, there are some rules with frequency of booking (aka the 120-minute rule), and booking multiples of the same ride. 

What is the 120-minute rule of Genie Plus?

Genie+ at Disney World has a 120 minute rule, which is to prevent guests from booking all of the Lightning Lanes in first thing in the morning.

The 120-minute rule, is that after booking a Lightning Lane, you have to wait 120 minutes in order to book another one. The exception is if you select a Lightning Lane first thing in the morning, then you can book the next one after the time slot closes.

I will give some examples to help make this concept easier to understand because it can get confusing.

Example A, Magic Kingdom opens at 8 a.m., you aren’t a Disney World Hotel guest, and you must book your first Lighting Lane at the park opening. You manage to get an 8:15 a.m. slot for Peter Pan’s Flight. This becomes an exception to the 120-minute rule.

Example B, same scenario, at Magic Kingdom, making your first Lighting Lane at the opening. You were able to get Peter Pan’s Flight for 1 p.m. This means you have to follow the 120-minute rule, and you won’t be able to make your next Genie+ reservation until 10 a.m.

But don’t worry, in case you forget, Genie also tells you what time you can make your next Lightning Lane selection.

What happens if I miss my Genie+ time?

Unfortunately, if you miss your Genie+ time, you will be unable to use the Lightning Lane Pass, and you won’t be able to book another Lightning Lane for the same ride.

This means the only way to enjoy that attraction is to stand in the standby lane.

Can you use Genie+ on the same ride twice?

No, Genie+ only allows guests to use Genie+ Lightning Lanes to ride the available attractions once per day. This includes purchasing an Individual Lighting Lane.

What happens if the ride is closed during lightning lane?

Each Lightning Lane selection is valid for 1 hour, (ie Peter Pan’s Flight 8:15 – 9:15). If an attraction is closed during that time, you will be given a ‘magical experience’ pass. Which is essential a lightning lane for certain attractions.

If you happen to get this ‘Magical Experience’ Pass, be sure to read the limitations, as it doesn’t work towards any Lightning Lane attraction. It won’t work on any attraction that has Individual Lightning Lane, and sometimes it will work for attractions that don’t have Lightning Lane. So it is important to see which attractions qualify with special pass.

Can you use Lightning Lane when park hopping?

Yes, if you have a park hopper ticket, you can purchase a Multi-Park Genie+, allowing you to use Lightning Lanes at whichever park you go to.

Do I need to make my first lightning lane at 7 a.m.?

Reserving Lightning Lane at 7 a.m. is only available for guests on resort property. This includes all Walt Disney World Resorts, as well as, Walt Disney World Swan, Walt Disney World Dolphin, and Shades of Green Resorts.

For those guests, it isn’t required, but it is strongly encouraged, as once the park opens, all park guests will be booking Lighting Lanes, and they tend to sell out quickly.

What is the perk of staying on the resort with Genie+?

A huge perk to purchasing Genie+ at Disney World when you’re staying on resort is that you can book your first Lightning Lane at 7 am, which in some cases is a few hours before other park guests.

Is there any Disney Vacation Club or Annual Passholder discount for Disney Genie+?

There are no discounts or perks for Disney World Annual Passholders or DVC members at Disney World with Genie+. This could change in the future, but as of now, there is no benefit or perk, or discount.

Is Disney Genie+ worth it at Disney World?

This is the most asked question when discussing Genie+ at Disney World. And honestly, it can be a tough one to answer. So here is my take on it.

If you are going to Disney World during a peak time of year, I highly recommend purchasing Genie+ and individual lightning lanes. It may add another expense to your trip budget, but it will save you time, which opens the door to more possibilities.

If you’re only spending one day at each park, or are only spending 1-2 days at Disney World (whether park hopping or not), then I would also recommend purchasing Genie+ as, again it is going to save you time.

If you are having a long extended vacation at Disney World, spending more than one day at a park, then I don’t think I would recommend it. As you hypothetically have more time in each park than others, maximizing time in parks isn’t a priority.

I would also say that if you frequently go to Disney World (once a month or more), purchasing Genie+ probably isn’t necessary.

But that is the great thing about purchasing Genie+ at the Disney parks; it is done on a day-by-day basis. So let’s say you don’t purchase it your first day; you can always purchase it your second day, or vice versa. 

The Wrap-Up: Walt Disney World Genie+

Many things have changed since Genie+ first launched at Disney World, and we covered all of it!

Genie+ is an optional paid service that allows guests to ‘skip’ the line through time slot reservations of rides. To ensure everyone can enjoy attractions, guests who purchase Genie+ can only reserve one-time slot for a ride for the day and have time limits for booking or reserving those time slots.

Genie+ at Walt Disney World is purchased day by day, and a valid theme park ticket AND park reservation are required to purchase.

Genie+ offers lightning lane access for specific rides and specific times. This allows guests to minimize wait times and enjoy other Disney World Parks aspects.

Additionally, PhotoPass and select attraction photos are available for unlimited download when guests purchase Genie+.

There are two different kinds of Lightning Lane access. Lightning Lanes are included in the Genie+ purchase and a la carte or Individual Lightning Lanes, which are a separate purchase. Guests have the option to only purchase Genie+, to only purchase individual Lightning Lanes, or an option to buy both.

The cost of Genie+ varies by which park you plan on attending and the day of the week. The cost of individual lightning lanes also goes by the day of the week and crowds.

The Disney World chefs have really outdone themselves with the treats that are being offered this year for St. Patrick’s day at Disney World. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day than at a Disney park with a fun festive treat and drink in my hands!

If you are going to be going to Disney World for St. Patrick’s day, remember that a theme park ticket, as well as a park reservation, is still required in order to enter the parks. Also, the treats are limited to first come first serve, and there is a possibility that they can sell out of a specific treat in a day.
